Origins

Global Medical Assistance (abbrev. GMA) is the brainchild of a caring physician, Dr Eric J. Hazan,. He realized in the course of his thorough medical training that excellent medical care could be delivered in Mexico, readily and at a fraction of its cost in the U.S.A.

Dr Hazan has extensive professional experience in public, academic and private medical systems in Mexico and the U.S. This unique background has allowed him to understand how to match the needs of patients to achieve the highest standards of medical care across borders.

Doctor Eric Joseph Hazancompleted his medical education in Mexico’s top medical school and graduated with honors from the prestigious National Institute of Orthopaedics. Seeking surgical excellence, he further trained in the United States where he successfully obtained two subspecialties: Orthopaedic Trauma & Reconstruction from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, and Orthopaedic Oncology from Harvard Medical School’s Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Upon returning to Mexico, he was appointed to direct the Orthopaedic Trauma and Emergency departments at the National Institute for Rehabilitation, a leading academic hospital.

There, he teaches medical students and orthopaedic surgery residents, runs patient awareness programs and conducts scientific and clinical research, but most of all takes pride in treating patients with no healthcare coverage with the highest standards of medical care.
